The growing debate on reducing pesticide use in Brazil highlights the importance of sustainable alternatives such as biological control. In this context, Bracell has strengthened its investments in nature-based solutions, significantly reducing reliance on chemical pesticides in its forestry operations.
By producing and releasing natural enemies to control pests, the company achieved an approximate 80% reduction in pesticide application, with consistent results across regions such as Bahia and São Paulo. Supported by biotechnology, drone application and technical partnerships, the initiative is part of the Bracell 2030 Agenda, reinforcing a more sustainable, efficient and climate-positive forestry model.

Bracell reported removing 6 million tons of CO₂ between 2020 and 2025, reinforcing its low-carbon strategy and progress toward its 2030 sustainability goals. The results are driven by its forest operations, combining planted and preserved areas to capture carbon at scale. To strengthen accuracy and transparency, the company is expanding its climate monitoring capabilities through flux towers, which enable real-time measurement of carbon exchanges. The initiative integrates technology, science, and responsible forest management, positioning Bracell as a key player in the global climate agenda and low-carbon bioeconomy.
