Women in leadership positions reach 27.7% (113 leaders), approaching the target of 30% by 2030
Bracell, one of the global leaders in the production of dissolving and specialty pulp, closed 2025 with 27.7% of leadership positions at its pulp mills held by women, marking significant progress in its diversity and inclusion strategy.
This indicator represents 113 women in leadership roles across Bracell’s pulp operations, highlighting the company’s consistent advancement toward gender equity in a sector traditionally dominated by men at all levels, including leadership.
Promoting equal opportunities for women is one of the priority goals of Bracell 2030, the company’s long‑term sustainability commitment, which establishes the target of reaching 30% female representation in leadership positions by 2030. This goal reinforces Bracell’s strategic focus on driving structural transformation within the business.
Women’s Leadership Journeys
This progress is reflected in concrete career paths within the company. One example is Jéssica Resende, Mill Coordinator at Bracell’s Lençóis Paulista (SP) unit. She began her career in industry at the age of 18 in the electrical maintenance and instrumentation area — a field traditionally dominated by men.
Over time, she held various technical and planning roles and joined Bracell in 2016. Following a continuous development journey, including participation in development programs and technical specialization initiatives, she was appointed Mill Coordinator in 2025.
“Every time I share my story and manage to inspire other women, it gives my journey even greater meaning. For me, leadership is closely linked to the ability to influence people and open paths so others can move forward as well. At Bracell, I see an environment that has been evolving consistently, offering more space, respect, and real opportunities for women to grow and develop,” says Jéssica.
Developing Women Leaders
Throughout the year, Bracell intensified initiatives aimed at developing women leaders. The company’s training and development strategy spans all management levels, including programs such as Cultivating Potential, designed for non‑leaders and allocating 50% of available slots to women. The program includes a dedicated learning track developed specifically to promote gender equity.
Another example of female leadership is Narana Trolin, Senior Manager of Industrial Operations at Bracell’s Camaçari (BA) unit, who has nearly 15 years of experience with the company. A chemical engineer, Narana built an international career before joining Bracell, gaining experience in industrial projects across Europe. At Bracell, she has led several operational areas before reaching her current role, where she plays a strategic role in industrial management.
“Female presence transforms not only representation, but also the quality of decisions and relationships within teams. More diverse environments are more creative, balanced, and efficient. At Bracell, I see this movement taking place in a very tangible way, with incentives for development, openness to growth, and an increasingly strong female presence in leadership. Every woman in a leadership role helps pave the way for others. Giving visibility to these journeys is essential to accelerating transformation in the industrial sector,” the executive emphasizes.
Gender Equity as a Strategic Commitment
This agenda is further supported by institutional initiatives focused on promoting a more inclusive and safe work environment, including continuous training and development efforts, diversity and inclusion awareness programs, and anti‑harassment initiatives integrated into the company’s Integrity Program.
“Promoting gender equity is a strategic commitment for Bracell and a core element of our sustainable development agenda. The growing presence of women in leadership positions — including industrial operations — reflects a consistent effort focused on education, inclusion, and talent development, aligned with our long‑term vision,” says Márcio Nappo, Vice President of Sustainability at Bracell.
Embedded in a broader social impact strategy, the promotion of equal opportunities for women is one of the central goals of the Empowering Lives pillar of Bracell 2030, which seeks to empower people and communities through transformative initiatives. This approach also includes actions aimed at women’s entrepreneurship, income generation, and education, extending the reach of the gender equity agenda beyond Bracell’s internal operations.
